Biking to Phu Charoen waterfall near Mae Sot

Tiger TravelFirst I want to introduce my new love. I ‘m separated from my IRON LADY she did a good job for me but I required something heavier and stronger than her. I bought myself a golden tiger girl, which is an Italian Thai cooperation.

The unknown “TIGER BOXER 250 Rs”. Many people looking down upon this bike, but I assure you this is a very reliable bike. It is a back to the basics bike with no whistles and bells. But Oh so beautiful, Its Italian exotic design makes this bike a real beauty. She’s far from lazy and not slow, the Italians never made slow bikes. Which results in a splendid road handling?

The Tiger engineers guaranteed me that the Tiger is a comfortable to ride on. Short or long distances are no longer a problem to cover. I should rather say the Tiger is a marathon bike, a sporty cruiser.

Tiger Boxer Routine Maintenance

TechnicalMotorcycles start to wear and go out of adjustment from the day they leave the showroom. And our Tiger Boxer 250 RS is no exception on this phenomenon. Keeping them running smoothly, reliably and safely takes time and effort. Periodically it needs money too. Trying to cut economic corners with maintenance is never a good idea.

The level and frequency of maintenance very much depends on the sort of motorcycle. Robust, low revving tourers, like the Tiger Boxer, won't need anywhere near as much attention as some high-spec, high speed sportsbikes. But the fact is, all bikes need looking after.

Servicing is getting more and more complex to do at home, so decide what you're able to do, and what should be left to an expert. Missing services and checks can lead to problems and inconvenience at best, and accident and injury at worst.

Washing your motorcycle often is a good place to start. Getting into the nitty gritty of a machine will help you spot wear and tear early, giving you a chance to sort it quicker. Keep your eye on chain and sprocket wear and lube them as often as they need it – sometimes more than once a day. Tire pressure checks are a chore, but can make the difference between a good and evil handling motorcycle.

20000km off the beaten track with my Tiger Boxer 250 RS

AnnouncementsDear (future) Tiger friends ,

I received my Tiger girl on the 27th December 2008, I still remember that I told Pariya the sales person from Tiger if I can reach the first milestone of 20,000 km without any problems and hassle I will call this a quality bike. Pariya stood firm and never doubted about it, nearly 6 months later I only can confirm this.

After nearly 6 months my baby Tiger girl is fully grown by now. I still love her roaring every morning while I mount her, one touch on the bottom and my Tiger start to roar, ever and always, she never fails to open her mouth.

My Tiger Boxer 250 Rs is a real marathon bike, I can cover distances to 850 km a day without being to tired. The cruising speed I maintain is always around 105 - 110 km/h GPS speed. The engine does it with great ease, the average fuel consumption is around 3,5 l / 100 km.

English Tiger Boxer Owners Manual

General NewsMost people love their motorcycle, but unfortunately, they can't read the Thai manual. If you visit Thai forums and discussion boards regarding motorcycles you see often the question “Is there an English version of the manual online somewhere?”

For some motorcycle models, owners are in luck, as the model is also sold in a country where an English manual is essential. But for most motorcycle available on the Thai market manufacturers have no English owners manual available.

Tiger Motor Co. Ltd has changed this user-unfriendliness and made an English owners manual available for the Tiger Boxer.

After hanging up the phone with you I tried a few more times to push-starting the bike.

The lonely Tiger Boxer 250 RS in the Garage

ArticlesIt's a sad time. I have just told my brother-in-law that I'll give him my Tiger Boxer 250 RS, he is surely someone who'll use it more. It's certainly not that I don't love it; I confess, I still go into the garage and stare at it most days. Sometimes I sit on it and rev it up in a virtual way. The problem is finding the time to actually ride it in a real way.

I guess, in fact I know, I'm not alone. My best friend has a Honda CB400 in his garage that he is now going to sell, due to lack of time. He's been out on it twice this year. People like us just don't deserve motorcycles.

I had very grand dreams about riding the Tiger Boxer 250 RS over to my in-laws in the rural Northeast part of Thailand, the Tiger Boxer became an awesome ride capable of filtering through town without any problems. It was all there for the taking. I should have done it, but I didn't. What a twit.

The New Tiger TT150, A Modern Take on an Old Design

ArticlesThe brand new Tiger TT150 would appear, to some, to be a right old mess, apparently alternating between going bust and hand-building bikes untainted by mass appeal. But people would misjudging the new Tiger TT150.

The Tiger TT150, a café racer, which offers the full-bodied flavor of a classic bike without the hassle or looking endless for spare parts or unpleasant stains. Could this Tiger TT150 be the perfect summer toy??

The Tiger TT150 is build around a modern 150cc four-stroke single with twin shocks, a single disc and absolute no fairing of importance. The Tiger TT150 basically looks like a bike from '60s, but it's not a copy. The TT150 is a modern motorcycle with the frame, suspension and brake being to modern standards. Matter of fact to its low-overall-weight the bike stops much quicker then you would expect.

You need only one look at the Tiger TT150 and you can see where Tiger got its inspiration, the style lets everybody dream back to the days that motorcycles like this where TT-winning magic machines. The Tiger TT150 is a replica of a early European TT-racing machine. Actually, replica is a bit strong; homage would be more accurate.

Get the Right Motorcycle for the Job

ArticlesWhen you start riding, even simple things can make a difference – like buying the motorcycle you’re most comfortable on, rather than the one that looks the coolest and most aggressive.

You want a motorcycle that’s easy to ride while you develop your bike control and road craft. Stay with it until you feel fully at ease and confident about your riding in all conditions before moving up to a motorcycle with a bit more edge. The Tiger Boxer series is a motorcycle line that offers great road handling and enough performance to outperform the average motorcycle on the Thai roads.

Restrictive clothing is another barrier to control. Often riders spend a lot on top-quality gear without ensuring the fancy leathers or posh lid actually fit properly. Take your time buying this stuff and remember, just because it has the right label doesn’t mean it’s the best for you.

Probably the most important piece of clothing for control is your gloves. You make inputs to and get feedback from the bike through your feet, backside and hands, but the hands are far and away the most important here.
