The lonely Tiger Boxer 250 RS in the Garage

It's a sad time. I have just told my brother-in-law that I'll give him my Tiger Boxer 250 RS, he is surely someone who'll use it more. It's certainly not that I don't love it; I confess, I still go into the garage and stare at it most days. Sometimes I sit on it and rev it up in a virtual way. The problem is finding the time to actually ride it in a real way.

I guess, in fact I know, I'm not alone. My best friend has a Honda CB400 in his garage that he is now going to sell, due to lack of time. He's been out on it twice this year. People like us just don't deserve motorcycles.

I had very grand dreams about riding the Tiger Boxer 250 RS over to my in-laws in the rural Northeast part of Thailand, the Tiger Boxer became an awesome ride capable of filtering through town without any problems. It was all there for the taking. I should have done it, but I didn't. What a twit.

After the end of this raining season I will have the dreams again, I know it. And likely the wife will probably allow me to buy another motorcycle to tool around on. I will imagine myself touring the Thai country side, perhaps a trip to one of the neighboring countries, maybe even a trackday. Will I actual get round to it? Who knows?

While I'm pretty much a fair-weather-only biker, the feeling it gives you seems to live within you somewhere, even if you're not riding very often. That's the part that makes me dream of sunny days and long rides out into the wilderness of rural Thailand, with nothing but an exhaust note, clear skies and smooth Tarma for companions. The reality is that too many hours at work and a busy family life make such idyllic excursions more often the stuff of fantasy than fact.
